ImgBurn Question

I have a mpg that I edited. I want to burn it to a DVD-R so I can play it in my dvd player.

I use ImgBurn to "create image file from files/folders" After this is done, I've created an ISO file.
I then use ImgBurn to "write image file to disc" But when I am done, its just a copy of the mpg file on the DVD-R. I can't play it in DVD or blu ray player.
