I have a Samsung LN32D403E2DXZA TV. It has two HDMI inputs, composite inputs, and one labeled output "audio out" red and white rca connection.
The internal speakers are not very good and kind of rattle when the volume is increased even at the 75% mark or so. I want to be able to connect external speakers but so far am unable to do so, even after phoning Samsung and spending an exasperating 30 minutes on the phone with a so called Tech.
I bought a phillips sound bar http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Philips-...&skuId=5938026
which has an rca red and white input, but it did not work...no sound
I tried a set of Dell computer speakers powered, to the audio out on the back of the TV but no sound, although they work fine attached to a dvd player.
The guy at Samsung kept trying to give me solutions which involved connecting an external device which basically involved video and audio in. I kept asking him what the audio out connections are actually for and how can I use them...but never did get an answer.
You may be able to tell, I am not particularly knowledgeable about these matters, but can usually connect things properly and get success. This however has me stumped and I have wasted an inordinate amount of time trying to find the right solution.
I have a WDTV live player that I attach with HDMI, but of course I only get sound throught the TV speakers.
This TV does not enable one to turn off the volume on the tv and select external speakers. You can only turn it down or mute it.
I cannot return it, so that is not an option, or I would. The picture is fine though.
Could someone please tell me what I can use that is not too expensive, so that I can watch TV with external audio, and be able to turn down or mute the TV speakers.
Thank you in advance
