I demuxed a 15GB h246 video track from a 17GB MKV file using MKVExtractGUI2 to get rid of the subtitle tracks, and I'm trying to remux it into an MKV file (or convert it to some other HD format) but when I've tried opening it in Any Video Converter, MKVmerge, and even VLC player, each time it has shown that the file has a length of 0:00. When I open it in VLC, the file will still play correctly, but the timeline doesn't seem to know how long the video is, as it says 0:00 for the current time, and 0:00 for the end time as well.
I'm trying to edit the video in Sony Vegas, but since Vegas doesn't open MKV files, I was trying to convert it to another format with the minimum amount of quality loss possible. This would be as easy as converting the MKV to a different file type, but unfortunately the MKV file has subtitles included. The only way I know of to convert the MKV without including the subtitles is to demux it, and remux it without the subtitles file, but I can't seem to remux the h246 file because Any Video Converter, and MKVmerge both think that it has a length of 0:00.
Any Video Convert seems to just freeze, MakeMKV doesn't even see the h246 filetype, and MKVmerge gives the error "Error: The source file 'filename' could not be opened successfully, or retrieving its size by seeking to the end did not work".
Is there any other way to convert an MKV without including the subtitle tracks, or is there any way to make the h246 file display it's actual length?
