AVStoDVD creates VOBs with Audio sync problems

Hi. I have a movie in .flv format that I am trying to author to DVD. I have tried twice but both times there is a delay of about 5 seconds between words being spoken and the sound arriving. Any ideas why this could be?

I know there are tutorials for fixing this 'post production', but this is a watch once & delete DVD so I don't really want to spend a lot of time fixing the problem - I will just watch the movie on my PC instead (the flv file has no audio such problems). I would be interested to learn what the problem might be however and if it is fixable before the DVD authoring process starts.
