swsResize HD to SD settings

I plan to use Avidemux 2.6.4 to convert some 1080p.mp4 (1920x1080) files to xvid.avi files to play on universal DVD players (like my Philips 5992).

The Philips tells me "Video Resolution not Supported" because I forgot to resize it. I read that the Philips supports up to:

"SD NTSC: 720x480 29.97 fps
SD PAL: 720x576 25 fps
"

GSpot tells me the 1080p.mp4 files are 23.976fps which makes me even more uncertain…

I'm lost as to what best to enter into in the swsResize filter's settings.

Shall I leave "Lock Aspect Ratio" checked, and correct Source (and Destination) to 16:9? (Both say "4:3" when the window opens.) Shall I set Resize Width/Height to 720x404?

Please help, thank you very much!

p.s. I think I do know how to handle the video and audio settings otherwise.
