Trouble Ripping DVD with MakeMKV

I ripped it to an ISO with ImgBurn some time back. Trying to rip the ISO fails:
Code:

Using direct disc access mode
Calculated BUP offset for VTS #1 does not match one in IFO header.
Calculated BUP offset for VTS #2 does not match one in IFO header.
Calculated BUP offset for VTS #3 does not match one in IFO header.
Failed to open disc

Using the disc almost works:
Code:

Using direct disc access mode
Using LibreDrive mode (v05 id=067EFCA8EA7E)
IFO file for VTS #2 is corrupt, VOB file must be scanned. This may take very long time, please be patient.
IFO file for VTS #3 is corrupt, VOB file must be scanned. This may take very long time, please be patient.
Open DVD manually : "1"
Cells 2-end were skipped due to cell commands (structure protection?)
Cells 43-end were skipped due to cell commands (structure protection?)
Complex multiplex encountered - 7 cells and 10296 VOBUs have to be scanned. This may take some time, please be patient - it can't be avoided.
Title #1/0/1 was added (7 cell(s), 2:44:38)
Operation successfully completed

Only issue is it's about five minutes short. I had another disc behaving the same way, but only when opening automatically. Opening manually got me that last five minutes and allowed me to rip the full disc.

Why is this happening? Are there any workarounds?
