Access Violation error with MKVExtractGUI2...

Hello All!

I recently had to replace my computer and I am now running W8; of course I have everything Retro-ed to look like and work as much as possible as earlier versions. I'm trying to run MKVExtract which I HAVE placed in the MKVTools directory in my Program files as instructed. The program opens just fine, but when I go to input the MKV file (just a standard movie file muxed with an MPEG4 Video stream and a DTS Audio stream and a Vorbis Commentary track, which is the reason why I am doing this because my OPPO player does not recognize Vorbis files and I simply want to extract the commentary and convert it to MP3 which it DOES recognize) BUT... as it loads the file I get this error:

Access violation at address 004F2BEC in module 'MKVExtractGUI2.exe' Read of address 0000000D

And, NO streams appear to extract in the lower pane like they are supposed to do.

WHY is this? Does this program not run with W8? I've 'Taken Ownership' of both the MKV file and the install files, so I'm wondering what I can do? This SHOULD be so bloody simple, but it is turning into this HUGE ordeal.

If I simply CANNOT use this program, there MUST be some other easy way to extract the Vorbis commentary file and then convert it to MP3, right...?

Any suggestions would be LOVELY!

Thanks!
