Adding Subtitles using V/Dub on broken AVI file doesnt work. Help Please.

Hello

Im trying to add subtitles to an AVI file using virtual dub. When the process is completed all im left with is a new file that when played just displays a black screen with the subtitles successfully embedded. Ive done this many times before always successfully. However this time there is one difference which leads me to believe this may be the problem but ive no idea as to a solution.

Not that virtual dub alerts me to any problems but when i try to play the file in VLC a message appears saying " The AVi file is broken. Seeking will not work correctly. Do you want to fix it." If i just ignore that by hitting " dont repair" VLC successfully plays the file with the subtitles. I may be incorrect assuming the "AVI file is broken" message is the core of the problem but as this is the only difference to all the files ive successfully added subs to before thats the only assumption i can make.

Hope someone out there can assist here.

Thanks in advance

Sulli
