Split/Cut/Join VOB file

Hi,

I have several VOB files from a family DVD. I want cut into several segment, rearrange the clips, and join into one file.

I downloaded VSDC Free Video Editor and starting using. But it seem the cut feature and rejoin the clips are very tedious.
Is there any other FREE video software when I cut and drag into the timeline, it will snap on (auto connected previous clip with new clip)? Right now in VSDC Free Video Editor, it doesn't align from frame to frame.

Adding Audiotrack to mkv confusion

Hi,
I have MKV with HEVC Video one AC3 Audiotrack and some Subtitletracks which works just fine with VLC Player.
Than I have a seperate AC3 Track which also works with VLC.
When I put them together with XMediaRecode whitout converting anything (setting everything on copy), the addet AC3 Track is suddenly silent in VLC but it does work with the default Windows 10 Videoplayer. That just can't play the HEVC Video.
Now I take that Video and Repack it with Avidemux, again everything just set to copy, and suddenly everything works in VLC.
But Avidemux gets rid of the Subtitles.

Can anybody explain what is going on here? I'm confused

Need help in connecting audio streams to title menu buttons in PgcEdit

Hi, I'm currently having a bit of trouble with some little tweaks in PgcEdit.:confused:

I've successfully added a new audio stream (Bulgarian) to the DVD of Jurassic World (2015) in the place of the Russian one but I'm having some small difficulties because the audio streams are now out of their original order, which was:
ENGLISH,
CZECH,
HUNGARIAN,
POLISH,
RUSSIAN.

Now, they are:
ENGLISH,
BULGARIAN,
CZECH,
HUNGARIAN,
POLISH.

I want to link the title menu buttons (after which some commercials come up next and then the main menu) to the newly edited audio streams.

Also, the original DVD had only subtitles in Bulgarian, but now that I added a Bulgarian audio stream, I want the Bulgarian button in the title menu to choose the Bulgarian audio stream and not the Bulgarian subtitles.

Any help would be nice!:p

How to go from VHS to 2K? Live Los Angeles? We want to talk!

Hi everyone,

I'm a first timer to this forum but feel like you all might be the ones to help me with my issue.

I am a producer in LA who has a feature film that is meant to have the look of an old VHS tape. The film was shot in 2K on an Arri Alexa. We'd like to have a 2K delivery. We'd settle for 1080.

We have been able to successfully get the film to a VHS tape to get the look we want (using magnets and etc to distort the signal and get specific looks while playing it live), but we are struggling to get it back into the digital space in 2K for final delivery.

So, does anyone know a way to live capture VHS to 2K. We are fully aware there is a huge quality loss -- THIS IS WHAT WE ARE GOING FOR. We just do NOT want DIGITAL artifacts in the process. I poked around in this thread: https://forum.videohelp.com/threads/197551-VHS-to-DVD-conversion-Am-I-expecting-too-much but it isn't exactly what we're going for.

Our only idea right now is setting up a 2K camera and precisely lining it up with a high-resolution TV and doing a kind of live recording, but we're sure there is a better way.

All the post houses out here w'eve talked to are all convinced that the only way to do it is using Red Giant plugins, which looks like fake-y garbage to us.

Any help? Also, if you're in the LA area and have a set-up for making this kind of VHS to digital transfer let me know, we'd love to work with you.

What 2in1 software to View and Create Chapter for MKV? Need Help.

Does any one know this software?
It can view the video and click at any view point to create chapter. This is super useful and intuitive.

Current method that I know is very cumbersome,
I need to open 2 software, open video player to view and write down the chapter marker location,
then open chapter marker software to create and mux the chapter into the video.

Please check out this Youtube video, the owner did not share the software name

Do you have an online video clip that you want to save but you just can't download it with any downloader? Then try the free OBS Studio to screen capture it.


Tools required

OBS Studio



Guide

Install OBS Studio or use the portable version and launch the obs.exe/obs64.exe under the bin folder.



Start OBS Studio.
Select video source by click on the + under Sources and select Display Capture.

Create new and OK

Select the Display device you want to capture and deselect Capture cursor.

Right click in the preview window and choose Resize output (source size).

Now Start recording

Switch to video and start playing it and make it full screen. Then just wait until it's finish. (Make a test recording first)

And last Stop the recording and under File, Show recordings can you find your video.

If you want a mp4 instead of the default flv then use the built in remuxer under File, Remux Recordings.

Done.



You can of course fine tune lots of settings like set the output video size under Settings, Output (scaled) resolution. Or add a hotkey to start and stop the recording under the Settings, Hotkeys.

Capturing in M2TS or MP4

My gamecapture device allows me to capture in either M2TS or MP4. However, MP4 takes some time to process videos while M2TS takes only one second. So is that mean MP4 has better quality than M2TS? Does capturing in different file format have difference in picture display?

Motion overlay? I'm not even sure what to call this...

Found a video with part of it showing what appears to be some sort of overlay, a dark background with the motion of falling into a virtual 'swimming tube' with all the curves, making you feel like you're falling down into it. The rest of the video is a slideshow and words inserted which I do not want. I have Premier Pro available but have only used it for basic things, so if that is something I can use for this great. Am I correct in referring to this as an overlay?

I use avidemux for all my editing of home movies and I feel I know it pretty well. But it is not capable of what I want to do in one instance and I am looking for suggestions.

We built a house and I took pictures of the various stages of construction, always from the exact same spot. I have cropped these pictures in Photoshop so that, as I move from one picture to the next, everything is perfectly lined up and you can see the house becoming more and more complete.

I want to create a video that fades from one picture to the next. Really, just like a slideshow.

I've dropped JPEGs into my home movies before. Avidemux allows you to just drag and drop a JPEG, adding 0.40 seconds to the length, and then I just copy & paste that segment over and over until it becomes the length I want.

I want each photo to be onscreen for 5 seconds and have a 1 second fade between the images. One will fade out while the next picture simultaneously fades in.

The problem with avidemux's fade filter is that it only fades out. Thus, I could make one frame (picture) fade out over a specified amount of time, but the next picture can not fade in.

Fade-to-black works both ways (in and out), but that's not really what I want. I want one image to blend seamlessly into the next.

I found an old post describing what I want done using virtualdub, but as it hasn't been updated in years, I was looking for something more current.

I plan to continue using avidemux regularly as it does everything I need to do, with this exception. So I'd like to learn of something with a small footprint and small learning curve.

Can monochrome video be converted to regular/color video?

My camcorder Mini DV (14 years ago) broke so I borrowed my sisters to record the birth of my second daughter. It was last minute and didn't have time to ask my sister how to use the camcorder. We didn't realize til after the fact that it was on the monochrome setting. Is it possible to convert to a regular/color video?

VHS tapes Macrovision 2 remover

Hi guys, I'm a newbie to this forum. I'm wondering if anyone still knows or have a macrovision 2 remover device? I have tried RXII and Sima CSS-2. The RXII cannot remove the macrovision from the vhs tapes I have. The Sima CSS-2 can, yet it softens the image. If anyone still have such a device for recommendation, please throw it at me. Thank you in advance.

Which setting is Variable Bitrate in Handbrake?

Quick question on bitrate settings in Handbrake...

Which setting under the Video tab of Handbrake puts out a variable bitrate? Constant Quality or Average bitrate?

I do understand that Average Bitrate is still somewhat variable since Handbrake tries to keep it around that bitrate. But I guess I'm trying to figure out which one is the most variable - if that makes sense.
