How to install libass in Centos?

Hi

I am totally noob in linux command.
I just followed the instruction found on net, but seem I didn't install libass successfully.
I need to encode subtitle into my video using my centos server (my pc is too slow).
Here are some info I copied from my server, please suggest what should i do.

Downloading problem

Thought I'd try VOB2MPG Pro, as I was fairly happy with the free version, but was having a problem that I thought might be fixed by a feature in the Pro version (timecode).

I paid by Paypal (still waiting for registration key), and clicked on the download. A red window popped up that said "VOB2MPG.zip is unsafe to download and was blocked by SmartScreen Filter."

Is this a fatal problem? Is this software malicious?

App for simple video recording

Hey everyone,

I wasn't sure where to post this so have put it in general, hopefully someone can help!

My company conducts market research interviews with patients some of which involve video diaries that they record on their computer/phone and send back to us. Logistically it's a nightmare as everyone uses different software and have big problems sending the files to us when they are particularly large (and people who are non tech savvy have problems just recording the video).

Ideally i'm thinking the optimum way would be to have a simple ios (and ideally android) video recording app that allows a user to open it, press record and then record their video, then once recorded it has an option to upload the video to the cloud which we can then access. Ideally we would want to control the video format/quality etc through the app to ensure people aren't recording in too high a quality (whilst that sounds strange we don't need Ultra HD or 4K, standard SD mp4 would be fine and would make transferring the files much easier/quicker).

Obviously we could build one of these but that would be pretty expensive and time consuming so I wanted to see if anyone knows of any apps that do this or something similar that we might be able to use (paid apps are fine).

Failing this even if there was an equivalent program for windows/mac that we could use that links to the users webcam that would be better than the current setup at least.

Would love to hear if anyone knows of anything that might be suitable?

Compressing audio with a script in VirtualDub

So I'm trying to write a simple Sylia script to compress avi files with VirtualDub. It gets stuck on the line

VirtualDub.audio.SetCompression(0x0055,2,0,8000,1) ;

It gives an error message saying "Overloaded method SetCompression(int, int, int, int, int) not found". I'm not sure why this is, but my guess is that I need to provide the other two arguments, cbData and data (as described here). Problem is, I'm not sure what those are supposed to be. The page at the link says:

cbData: Size of data in bytes
data: MIME BASE64 encoded data string

Usually, you will want to derive these fields by querying the compressor
or looking at job scripts VirtualDub saves, because audio compressors

data formats are documented in MMREG.H in the Win32 Platform SDK.
And I'm not sure precisely what that means. Can somebody please help me interpret it?

VIDEO_TS to ISO

I created a ISO + UDF 1.02 + Juliet ISO from a 6.93 GB VIDEO_TS folder..the ISO ended up being 7.63 GB.

Is this normal or is IMGBURN adding padding to the disc to bloat it? Anyone know and can assist in getting a .ISO exactly the size of the folder?

Blu-Ray Player

Hi Guys,
Please excuse but I don't know any other way to ask.. What is the best Blu-Ray Player under $120.00
and best one under $200.00 that I can connect to a TV.. I would it to be able to Read CD-R and DVD-/+R Dics.
but not a deal breaker.. Other than that I do not need any thing Special..

How to correctly configure audio playback for movies ie Streo/5.2/7.2 Atmos

Hi ,
I wonder if someone could guide me on how best to configure PotPlayer to work best with my Marantz 7010 AVR ?
The Marantz 7010 AVR is Atmos enabled and I will be using 2 or possibly 4 Atmos speakers . It is a 9.2 channel receiver with the option to go to 11.2 if used in conjunction with a stereo amp.
It will play lots of different sound formats and I wish to ensure that when I am playing files via PotPlayer that I have PotPlayer configured correctly to play the various files that I have (Atmos/7.2/5.2/Stereo with subwoofers) I do not play music from PotPlayer.

I have looked in Potplayer Preferences under Audio and Audio Renderer is set to Auto and S/PDIF is set to default. For both of these a setting of WaveOut:Marantz-AVR (Intel Display Audio) is an option but I don't know if I should select that.
I have speakers set as Same as Input, Resample is Same as Input and Output is set as PCM (Default and Recommended).
I have not set the Built in Audio Decoder.

Any guidance would be very much appreciated.

In Handbrake under Filter Section their are Many Options Like Deinterlace , Decomb , Denoise , Deblock etc ... Can Someone Explain me These Options , How these Options can be useful and How changing these Options affect Quality ... ??
Please Explain this With Example if Possible ..

Overlaying hyperlinks

Hi, all.

I've been asked by a friend to create some videos that will include text overlays with hyperlinks (much like the adverts that overlay YouTube videos). This is something I've not done before and have no idea how to do.

I routinely use kdenlive for video editing, and occasionally OpenShot and ShotCut. In none of these do I see any way of adding hyperlinked overlays. Does anyone know whether this is in fact possible?

VHS capture, jagged left edge on scanlines, filter for VirtualDub?

Hi all,

I have my capture setup running, but capturing some low quality VHS tapes off an old JVC recorder. Now everything is ok except the frame shows a jagged vertical edge, and of course all the scan lines are offset likewise. This will be jagged sometimes, but pretty straight most of the time. It's not that the tape is worn or that there is a damaged edge, it's just not very stable.

I'm sure there's a name for this, and possibly a filter to correct it, but I have googled for an hour and giving up. Who can help?

MPEG Streamclip "not responding"

Hello everybody,

I'm converting a .mov photo JPEG film file to either DV or DNxHD for use in Pro Tools as these are the recommended formats.
I'm using MPEG Streamclip for this. Whenever I load the film (49 gigabytes) into the program it goes into "preparing". If I click on the window I get a "Not Responding" message at the top of the window. Now I can't tell if it's legitimately crashed or it is just processing the large film file.

It has created the file on my desktop with "0 KB" file size but my CPU isn't doing anything.


What should I do?

I have an MP4 file that will not open or play. I went to MP4.org and they say that they can repair but they want $101. That is a deal breaker. I have used a lot of the free programs and they did not work. Any suggestions?

Fixing non syncronized audio and video.

Hi

Sometimes when I rip and mux videos, I have a file with audio and video out of sync. I am using MP4 container because this is one that is accepts by my TV. I found MKVToolNix that can fix non-synced videos very easily but it muxes files into a new container that is MKV. Is there anything similar to MKVToolNix that works with MP4 containers?
