Note: Before using DVDFab DRM Removal for Apple, you need to allow iTunes to “share iTunes library XML with other applications”. How to fix DTS non monotonous error in ffmpeg

I'm trying to re-encode a video which i had grabbed from an online stream. Its on flv format but unable to play properly on vlc thus i tried to re-encode it using ffmpeg. However i am getting an error which states like this. 'non monotonous dts in output stream 0:0' Is there any way to avoid this error?. The process goes through kind of fine around the first two minutes but then this message appears and it goes in and endless cascade of yellow messages telling me 'non monotonous dts in output stream'.

Can the timestamp or whatever thing that is involved in this error be fixed or any solution that i can take to bypass this?. Thanks in advance.

I made a Solar Eclipse timelapse using an astro tracker. The video is jerky due to the mount not perfectly aligned and not designed for a camera.
Its basically sun near the center, and rest of the frame is black.
What is the best way to stabilize this?

Here is the video stabilized with youtube.
Is it possible to stabilize it such that sun does not move at all

Attached a soft-sub srt to a mkv movie, having some errors in the new subs.

I was trying to attach a srt file to a movie with MKVToolnix so that i could choose between multiple subtitle tracks, after the muxing i open the new file and notice there are some text errors in the subtitles, for example the word "però" was replaced by "però" which makes me think that the letter "ò" isn't getting recognized in the keyboard, so the system replaces it with "ò". In the original movie the words displays with no errors, adding the subtitle track from vlc, but i have to watch the movie in a tv, which supports mkv files with multiple subtitle tracks, but doesn't allow to add one manually. Are there any alternatives to mkvtoolnix that i can use to attach a new subtitle track to a mkv file?

VOB File - DVD Output

I'm not sure if this is posted in the correct place or not...

I recently received a burned DVD copy of a basketball game. When watching it through my DVD player connected to the TV, the quality is not very good. It's jumpy and the images of the players seem to ghost or not be able to keep up. Not smooth.

But, I notice that when I insert it into my PC and right click and open and play the .VOB files, that the quality is very nice - considerably better.

Can anyone explain this please?

Is this an encoding issue or something to do with the speed in which it was burned? I'm learning much of this on the fly.

Can I take those .VOB files and create a better quality DVD?

thanks for any help - much appreciated

Bluray English and Forced Subtitles in Same Subtitle File

I have the Shawshank Redemption Bluray remux that has a single subtitle file. However when I play back the video it has 2 subtitles that can be played: English and English Forced subtitles. The problem is that when I play the video, the English subs play by default. There's no way to tell MPC-HC to play the forced subs by default.

Is there a way to do this? Is there a way to extract the subs into 2 seperate files so that when I remux them I can set the forced subs to play by default in MKV Toolnix?

Marantz MV5100 for Home Movie Digital Conversion (TBC Question)

Hi All!

First post here. I have an opportunity to buy a Marantz MV5100 (w/o remote). My intention is to use this to convert old home VHS tapes to digital for uploading to youtube for the family to view. Based on my research, it seems a VHS player with built in TBC is going to be my best option.

I want to know if this VHS player has this. I have found some info that it is a re-badge of a JVC 9000 series (which I understand is a pretty awesome unit with TBC), but have not been able to corroborate this.

Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks all!

Hi8 Capture Issues

Hi everyone,

I am currently in the process of capturing some Hi8 tapes for a friend. They were all recorded on the same Sony Hi8 camera, which is long gone. I am capturing these tapes with a Canon Hi8 Camcorder that I had at my house. Some of the tapes come out beautifully and some are getting some gray horizontal lines across the screen intermittently throughout. The sound during these times is also very off. I have cleaned my heads on my camera and also played with the settings, which hasn't helped. Again, out of the 25 or so tapes, there is only 4 or 5 doing this. Any suggestions would be great.

Any firewire capture software for Windows 10 actually work?

I have a Canon Vixia HV 30 which I was previously able to connect to my PC when I had Windows 7. Now that I have upgraded to 10, the Windows Movie Maker is gone, so I tried installing some of the apps which said they made DVDs, but none of then have the ability to capture from firewire. I did some searching and tried WinDV and DVCapture, but neither of them worked. The camera shows up in the device manager under the 'sound, video and game controllers' and it says that the driver is the latest and greatest.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

Deter's Panasonic AG1908P Repair

I don't want to sound like an infomercial but I wanted to sing Deter's praises on here. I sent him my Panasonic AG1980P for repair. It had quit working and the loading mechanism had failed as well. I really struggled with whether I should sink $350+ into an old VCR like this but I am so glad I did. I got the unit back in about 2 weeks and the transfers I am getting right now off this machine are simply amazing. The LCD display even lights up clearly again. His service is worth the money. Thanks again Deter!

Corrupted FLV Files / Videos Get Stuck Up / Audio out of sync.

$

Hey guys, new here... I've been reading a lot of threads, and i haven't found any solutions so far. Im a total newbie here, so i'll ask for your advice.

I have these old .flv videos... And most of them are corrupted; they get stuck up in all videoplayers i've tried (VLC AND MPC)... Audio works fine but it obviously stops when the video does. Thing is, it only gets stuck at some parts, if i fastforward them they keep going... For example, vid works fine the first 5 mins then it freezes... But if i ff to minute 15 it keeps going again. So, if i fastforward it gets working again but it misses/skips the minutes i missed in that lapse... Same with the audio.

What i've tried so far:

-Convert the FLV files with myffmpeg, free flv converter, winFF, xmedia recode. They convert it just fine to MP4 or MKV, but it just changes the format so the problem persists (keeps freezing at the same timestamps and does the same as the original FLV file).

-FLV Extract to separate timecodes (I don't know what to do with this to be honest), video and audio. When i do this, it fixes the video and converts it to avi or mkv (Im using FLV Extract 2.2.1.2) and it works just perfect, it doesn't get stuck and runs smooth like it should be... But im getting NO sound with it... Instead, it just gives me an .spx file with the sound of the video.

Now, after i did that... I checked that .spx file and it's duration is much shorter than the fixed video. For example, the original flv file is 1h32 min and that .spx file is only 43 mins. I tried converting that .spx into mp3 format, then tried to merge both files with xmedia recode... And sound is just out of sync as to be expected (Lol). So im assuming there is either no way to fix the sound or to extract it to work perfectly with the video FLV Extract manages to fix, or I just don't know how. Like i said, im a total newbie here.

Whenever i tried other softwares such as winff, myffmpeg or xmedia recode to extract only the sound, it was corrupted at the exact same timestaps the original FLV is... So i assumed it'd be pointless to merge it with the fixed video. Also, i still had a difference of 2-3 mins with the video's duration, which is 1h32 min.

Here's the MediaInfo of the original FLV File

Format : Flash Video
File size : 258 MiB
Duration : 1 h 32 min
Overall bit rate : 388 kb/s

Video
Format : Sorenson Spark
Codec ID : 2
Duration : 1 h 32 min
Width : 320 pixels
Height : 240 pixels
Display aspect ratio : 4:3
Frame rate mode : Variable
Bit depth : 8 bits

Audio
Format : Speex
Codec ID : 11
Duration : 1 h 32 min
Channel(s) : 1 channel
Sampling rate : 5 500 Hz
Bit depth : 16 bits
Compression mode : Lossy

Any advice/help/comment would be greatly appreciated... Sorry for the long read and for my bad english.

Cheers :)

How to use MeGUI workers

$

Hi. I want to try speeding things up by using MeGUI 'workers' but can't get my head around it and nor can I find a good tutorial.

My first question is: how many scripts do I need? Say I have a movie that I'm going to edit into 3 scenes, I'd have a script like this which I'd run 3 times (changing the hashes):

LoadPlugin("E:\MeGUI\tools\lsmash\LSMASHSource.dll ")
a=LSMASHVideoSource("F:\....mp4")
b=LSMASHAudioSource("F:\....mp4")
audiodub(a,b)
trim(240,5600)
#trim(6000,16000)
#trim(18000,25487)

With workers, could I just remove the hashes? Or would I make 2 extra copies of the script, give them new names and include just one 'trim' in each?

Now the main question, how to get a second worker going. Do you begin one job as normal and then add the other – if so, how exactly? Or is there another method?

Any assistance GREATLY appreciated.

Hello,
few months back I have been using As Video Converter and it was working great. But now it does not work at all no matter what settings I choose or what type of video file I throw in it it always fail. I am not sure what could have happened in the past few months but even the old version that did work past then, does not work right now.
By the way here is the log from this app, maybe it will help. There is something with the splitter at the end...
